Biography

Ian is a telecommunication professional and has been working in the industry for 30 years.  Ian’s passion is working with those who seek to develop cross technology end to end solutions based upon sound business drivers, as well as evangelising new technologies and solutions that have the potential to add value to an operator’s business. As Head of Solutions for Nokia in the UK&I our aim is to build a clear technical vision linked to Nokia’s customer’s business strategy, build senior technical relationships and aim to maximise cross sell and multi-technology opportunities for our customers and Nokia. In addition, based upon market, regulatory and technology trends we look to identify key areas of focus for new Nokia opportunities within the UK&I. Previous roles during Ian’s career have included heading technical and commercial pre-sales teams and providing senior engineering ICT consultancy services and technical project management services to a global client base. Ian is a Chartered Engineer and holds a BSc. (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from Bangor University (UCNW), a MSc in Telecommunications & Information Systems from the University of Essex and is a Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET).

Bernhard Pusch
Head of Global Internet Strategy at Telstra
Biography

Bernhard Pusch is Head of Global Internet Strategy at Telstra.

Based in Paris, Bernhard is responsible for developing and driving Telstra’s Internet business and peering activities globally. He joined Telstra in 2005, and prior to his current role was responsible for developing the wholesale business in Continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as with European OTTs.

Bernhard has more than two decades of experience in IT and telecoms in Europe and Asia, spanning roles in sales, product management and marketing. Before joining Telstra, Bernhard was Sales Director for Global Accounts at Nortel, based in Hong Kong.

In November 2019 Bernhard was elected to serve on the supervisory board of AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange) for 3 years.  He is currently a member of the finance committee there supervising reporting and forecasting processes.

Taufiq Hussien
Chief Business Development Officer at IX Telecom
Biography

Taufiq was a returning expert from the USA under Malaysian Talent Corporation Returning Expert programme back in 2014. He received his education from the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio and MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute by Strayer University, USA. 

Upon his return to Malaysia, Taufiq invested in IX Global Services as part of the IX Telecom group focusing on internet network service. During his stint at IX Telecom, he handled a few portfolios including the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Business Development Officer, managing international and domestic businesses. 

IX Telecom is positioning itself as the Gateway to the South East Asia market for managed internet and network services.
