Biography

Arjen van der Broek is the VP Mobile Messaging at KONTXT by RealNetworks. His career concentrating in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Product Management has spanned roles ranging from Business Consultant to Director of Product Management and VP of Customer Success... for small start-ups to major corporations such as IBM. Arjen’s greatest talents are his ability to simplify complexity; build better brands by applying marketing techniques; customer engagement; and teaching and storytelling. He holds several patents with one focusing on the relationship between content and individuals: applying machine learning to constantly update the right message based on the relationship of customer-attributes and content / message attributes. Arjen lives in the Netherlands and Canada, and speaks four languages fluently.

Colin Taylor
Artistic Director at Arts&Science Performance Company
Biography

Colin Taylor has an established reputation as a groundbreaking, highly innovative, and award-winning director and producer in Canada. Also a playwright, actor, voice over artist and teacher, he is currently the Artistic Director of Arts&Science Performance Company in Toronto. Previously, Colin was the Artistic Producer of (Theatre) WUM, and former Associate Artistic Director of Theatre Passe Muraille. He has also served as a Producer/Director of Radio Drama for the CBC, President of the Board of Theatre Ontario, and as a Visiting Artist and Lecturer in Playwriting and Theatre Studies at various universities across Canada, including Brock, Windsor, Toronto, Queen’s, and Bishop’s.

Michael Bordash
CTO of KONTXT by RealNetworks; GM of AI Strategy at RealNetworks
Biography

Michael Bordash is the CTO of KONTXT by RealNetworks, as well as the General Manager of AI Strategy at RealNetworks, Inc. Before joining Real, Michael worked for IBM after his start-up Xtify was acquired by the company. During his IBM tenure, he became a Distinguished Engineer for Watson, managing teams of AI engineers and data scientists solving Marketing, Commerce and Supply Chain problems. Michael holds 12 patents with several citations, and is a published author and technical columnist. He graduated from New York University (NYU) with a B.A. in Classics, and finds strong correlation between his major and modern Natural Language Processing & Understanding (NLP/NLU) techniques. Michael began his career as a software engineer at Bloomberg while attending NYU.
